Guess where we're going in 2 days!!!!

First of all, Godiva and I are so sorry that we haven't posted in a while. I need a little help once and a while on the computer because paws aren't the easiest appendage to type with. :) We had a great winter and a beautiful spring. Finally summer is here and that means the DOCKDOGs season is in full swing. Mommy, Daddy, Godiva & I are heading to The Kennel Shop in Scarborough, Maine on Friday morning!!!! I am so excited. We absolutely love how dog friendly Maine is. Godiva and I get to hang with all our doggy friends this weekend including Ralphie, Riley, Chase, Bodie, Mac, Axel, Sophia, Atlas, Simon, Storm, Drake & Jasmine. We get to jump, swim and play all weekend. The HVDD representation will be huge. I've been jumping really well since the beginning of the season. Lately my jumps have been 17 feet or better. I'm so pumped for Scarborough I feel like I can jumSpeed p 20 feet. I'll also being doing Speed Retrieve. I absolutely love the anticipation that builds up to run, swim as fast as I can and grab the decoy. My goal this weekend is to break the 7.000 second mark. I've also been working on Extreme Vertical. At the HVDD Doggie Dip a couple weeks ago, I took 3rd place with my best jump of 5'2". Mommy is hoping to have Godiva make her national debut. She's been jumping pretty consistently for Mommy. Well as long as Mommy doesn't throw WUBBA out too far, Godiva will jump. She has to jump on top of it. Silly puppy. She's petite and has some very strong muscles. She probably could fly off that dock if she would just try it. So if you're in the area by chance and want to watch TEAM PINK LIGHTNING in action, please feel free to come down to The Kennel Shop on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

1st place Amateur & HVDD Sweep

HOLY COW! Are you ready for this one? I won first place in the Amateur Big Air Finals yesterday at the National Dock Dog Event at the Hebron Fair, in Hebron CT!!!! Me! Little old me! Bella who has been jumping consistently in the 15 foot area. At the Dutchess County Fair, Mommy said she would give me a steak for dinner if I crossed over to the 16 foot mark (I had jumped 15'11" with her one day at the fair so she knew I was close.) Well, I jumped with Daddy this weekend so Mommy could walk Godiva and help raise money for Chase Away K-9 Cancer. All of the sudden on Saturday....I wanted that steak really really bad. it must of been the smell of the Gyros across from the pool. My first jump was 16'3"....a new personal best. I've never seen Mommy and Daddy so excited to have me jump a new personal best. Little did they know what I determination I had to beat that last jump. My second jump..Daddy lifted me up off all my fours so I could see my WUBBA. My feet were moving before he put me back on the ground. I bolted down the dock and leaped with all my might. Sean, the Dock Dog announcer, screamed out 17 feet even. I heard Mommy scream and everyone was cheering for me. I had just blown my new personal best out of the water! I deserve 2 steaks now! I also have to congratulate the rest of the Hudson Valley Dock Dog gang! HVDD swept the event. 1st place Amateurs....went to Daddy & I! I do have to give a high five to a new little guy that I just met. James & his dog, Twister. They came in second in Amateurs. Twister was right on my heels! Great job James! It really was great meeting you and your Dad! Oh & Quake too!! 1st place Semi-Pros...went to Lizzy & Ralphie. Lizzy deserves huge round of applause because she worked hard all weekend to get her throw down and to get my buddy Ralphie jumping as far as he good. 1st place Pros...went to Anna & Pico. 1st place Speed Retrieve...went to Kathleen & Bodie. 1st place Extreme Vertical...went to Anna & Pico. 2nd place Extreme Vertical was also captured by Brian & Atlas! EVERYONE who participated deserves a round of applause actually! There really were some great jumps and retrieves! Ms. Dolores, Mommy wants me to thank you for the yummy apple crisp, jello shots & great laughs! Cruiser really is a character! I want to play tag with him someday. The pictures that Mommy were able to get are coming. Not as many as Dutchess because of the size of the crowd (Mommy wasn't able to take pictures without standing in someone's way). See everyone at the pool on Saturday for HVDD's final FUN JUMP of the season!!!!!

New pics of me!

Mommy feels bad that she's only been only worried about Godiva jumping lately.
Here are 2 pictures from a speed retrieve demo, the Hudson Valley Dock Dogs put on during the Festival of Dogs (July 11-12).
Brian Wilcox of Connecticut Photo (http://www.connectphoto.com/) snapped these beautiful shots.

We have proof!!!!!!!!

Godiva finally has crossed over to the other side. She has decided it's fun to jump! Confidence is still a little low but Mommy is work on that. Check out the video!!! It's really quick so pay attention. Thanks to Emma's Mom for capturing it!

Hopefully Godiva will keep it up so Gabby can play with her and Boo can play with me. :)

Godiva Jumped!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mommy took Godiva and I up to the pool this morning and GODIVA JUMPED!!!!! She jumped on her own. Well.....Mommy had to get down off the dock and walk around the pool, but she jumped. I'm soooo proud. I don't think she's convinced that's its 100% fun yet. I think she was worried Mommy was going to leave her and that was the only way to get to her. I've never seen Mommy get soooooo excited. She didn't get that excited when I jumped for the first time. Ok, maybe she did. But I've been jumping for so long without hesitation that she knows I'll just go. We're preparing for the Harlem Valley Chamber's "Festival of the Dogs" on Saturday, July 11 and Sunday, July 12. It is a fundraiser to support local schools in the the Harlem Valley area with scholarships. Hudson Valley Dock Dogs will be putting on competition waves and newbie try it waves throughout the whole weekend. Check out http://www.harlemvalleychamber.com/ for more info. All for now. I need my beauty sleep because we did a ton of swimming today. Puppy kissses, Bella

I'm taking over this joint!

Ok....Godiva here. I finally decided that Bella needs to move over and let me speak. I barked, "Who's Here?" and she fell for it. She's been on guard by the front door making sure it's not Mommy, Daddy, Grandma or Ms. Amanda with Bruno & Lyric. :) I need to understand what all the excitement is with this swimming thing Mommy & Daddy keep taking me to. It kind of hinders Bella & my play time. Bella totally ignores me when we're up on this thing called a dock. I bark at her, I bite her ankles but she would much rather fly through the air to catch the WUBBA. (That reminds me, one of us needs to tell Daddy to get the PINK WUBBA....the yellow one just isn't doing the trick.) I go down the stairs and swim but that's not good enough. Guess, I have to give this jumping thing a try tomorrow!

More Good News!!!

We're going to Maine!!!!!!!! Daddy just told Mommy, Godiva & I that we're heading up to Maine for a weekend in June. Dock Dogs will be in Scarborough and we're going! I have to send Ms. Kate & the Davikas clan a little note seeing if they would be interested in meeting us there. I would love to see my littermate, Weatherbee. Daddy said he put me in 5 waves between Friday, Saturday & Sunday. If I feel like doing another, he said no problem. Of course you ask, "well what about Godiva?" Because I asked too. Daddy said he will sign Godiva up when she finally can jump off the dock. I nudged her ever so slightly during our family meeting that she has got to just do it this weekend at the Hudson Valley Dock Dogs Fun Jump. Mommy says I should post all the info for the eventful weekend in case anyone else wants to come join us.

HVDD First FUN JUMP of 2009 = TOMORROW!!

ROOF ROOF ROOF!!!! Lots of new stuff to talk about! I am sooooooo excited. Mommy started getting all the stuff ready to go for Hudson Valley Dock Dog Club and our own personal necessities. Mommy even made cookies last night for the the club to sell. They smelled oh so yummy. They're peanut butter dipped in doggy safe yogurt. I really hope there are some leftovers besides the broken one Mommy gave me last night. I've had a long talk with Godiva and I told her she needs to just jump! She'll love it. Godiva has all this energy, so there really is no reason for her hesitation. Mommy got a new car yesterday! It's bigger than her older one and it's shiny too. It looks just like this! I can't wait to go for a ride. Hopefully, Mommy will drive it to the pool tomorrow.

I almost forgot!!!

Mommy and Grandma figured out how to make me a new water vest last night!!!!! Mommy keeps washing my lightning vest and the silk screen image of the Dock Dog logo is coming off. So last night, she decided she could figure out how make Godiva and I our own water vest. So we went to Grandma's house to use her sewing machine and in about an hour, mommy had a pattern cut out and the main seam sewn. We didn't realize there is elastic in the arm holes so Mommy will get some elastic today and add the finishing touches tonight. It's bright pink but without the lightning bolts. I love it. Mommy is going to make a smaller pattern tonight for Godiva. Daddy has a friend, named Alex that makes T-shirts (www.tshirtbakery.com). He's going to see if Alex will put the Team Pink Lightning logo on it along with our names. I'm so excited. No one will miss us in these vests! Mommy wants to make one for Team Ralphie too! Ralphie is a yellow lab I met at the Dutchess County Fair last year. His best color is red! Hopefully Ralphie and his family is at the pool on Saturday.

The Pool is Officially Open!!!

Hudson Valley Dock Dogs is open for the season. The pool is officially open today but Mommy & Daddy have to work. Tomorrow though, we'll be heading up there nice and early for a meeting with everyone and some practice time. The first club event is scheduled for Saturday, May 16. Mommy & Daddy have a lot of planning to do. I've been so antsy to start jumping again that Mommy & Daddy took me down to the river last weekend. Godiva came too so I could introduce her to the water. She's a bit of a chicken though. She goes in but the second I jump too far out......she runs straight to shore. I heard Mommy tell Daddy that he may have to go in to build her confidence up. We'll see on Saturday if Godiva wants to give it a try. My next task is to show Lyric, Bruno's brother, how to jump off the dock. I should give some kudos to Lyric. He's been working very hard these past few weeks in his field & hunt tests. He'll be starting the show ring very soon. He is a very handsome viszla. I'm sure his mommy wouldn't mind me posting his blog to show him off a bit. Lyric & Bruno's blog is www.pisces219.wordpress.com I'm sure Mommy will take some pictures tomorrow. I'll be sure to post them soon.

Some long over due pictures

Finally, Mommy and I were able to load some pictures onto the computer last night. Mommy is starting her spring cleaning and her pictures are number #1 on her list. She says she's going to catch up on my album and then start Godiva's. We'll see because we have a busy Dock Dogs season ahead. Here are some pictures that I've been meaning to share with everyone. Godiva is about 9-10 weeks here. Right around New Years time. As you can see at first, I thought bringing home this rug rat wasn't such a great idea. But she's grown on me. Auntie Jen was trying to keep Godiva awake when she came to visit. Godiva wanted nothing of it. Godiva is so much cuter when she's sleeping.
More to come! She's much bigger and less pudge now.

No Harrisburg :(

I'm in total pout mode. We didn't go to Harrisburg last weekend. Daddy didn't feeling like driving that far. I can't wait much longer before I start the car myself. Hopefully, Mommy can convince Daddy to take a long weekend & go to Virginia Beach. It would be nice to get away all together. Godiva will be old enough to compete by then, although she has yet to see a pool. I'll show her the ropes and she'll get the hang of it real quick. Godiva had mommy ROFL yesterday. Godiva was running around like a nut job and decides that my crate, of all places, is the safe zone. She leaps into the crate as if she was leaping off the dock. Mommy took it as a sign that we need to get to the pool asap. So Daddy....let's go!!!!

I get all the Frosty Paws I want

and you wanna know why....because Mommy hurt me. Just kidding. She never would hurt me. Mommy was cutting our nails last night. I was hestitant because Daddy wasn't home to help. Well, I heard something outside and barked and next thing I knew....OUUCCCHHHH!! Mommy started crying and running around the house looking for something. So Godiva and I followed. She stuck my nail in some powder stuff that definitely wasn't sugar because it tasted gross! There was blood everywhere which caused Mommy to freak out even more. Next thing I know...Mommy has a frosty paw and cookies and ice cubes (all my favorite little treats) to try and get me to sit still. I couldn't sit still.....I needed to make sure Mommy was going to stop crying. But I did hear Frosty Paws every night! Gee Mommy, you can cut my nails whenever you want now.

Harrisburg, PA

Mommy and I are working hard again. Working hard again on trying to convince Daddy to take me to Harrisburg, PA for another Dock Dog competition. It's a 5 hour drive or so. I've promised to be a good girl in the car. So has Godiva. Let's hope Daddy makes a decision this weekend.

Happy Birthday Mommy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today is Mommy's Birthday! So here goes......
Happy Birthday to you! Ruff Ruff
Happy Birthday to You! Ruff Ruff
Happy Birthday Mommy!
Happy Birthday to you! Ruff Ruff
I sang the main chorus. Godiva threw some extra into the background.
I can not wait for this weekend. I love the snow but it's been too darn cold to stay outside too long. Godiva & I spend about 15-20 minutes outside chasing each other or the "cuz". So Mommy & Daddy are changing it up this weekend. Mommy is getting everything ready to leave early Saturday morning. We have to be on the road by 8am! I'm going DOCK JUMPING!!!!!!!!!
I haven't jumped since um.......who knows. It was that long ago. The pool will be inside so no need to worry that I'll freeze. Plus I saw the amount of towels mommy has in a bag to dry me off (that's if Godiva doesn't snatch 'em and run first)
Mommy has the camera cleaned & ready to roll. I'll make sure she posts pictures in a timely fashion from now on!

I gave Daddy the puppy dog eyes......

and he said he would take me swimming!!!!!!!!!!!! Mommy, Godiva & I were home yesterday because of all that ice. Mommy and I were looking on the computer together when we came across the Ultimate Air Dog website. UAD is having a competition in February. Right afters Mommy's birthday actually. Mommy is easy to convince to let me do things. I just have to give her kisses. Daddy takes a little bit of work. So when Daddy came home last night, I laid it on real thick. I turned my head and stared at Daddy with my soft, sad puppy eyes hoping he would say yes as Mommy explained there was a dock diving competition in Edison, New Jersey. It's 3 hours away. We could go and be home on Sunday. I would get to jump in the off season and Godiva could get some great socialization. (Mommy needs to work on this with Godiva because she keeps taking my toys as I just sit down to play or chew on them). Daddy said we'll see but I think I've got him.

Godiva is home!

It's been a busy week since Godiva has come home. She's kept Mommy & Daddy on their toes! Plus, Christmas was this week and Mommy was a tad bit stressed with all the things. I said I would help but she just wanted me to keep Godiva entertained. Mommy wants me to mention it's hard to get a good picture of Godiva because she's always moving. She is a lot of fun. But those puppy teeth have got to go.

It's Christmas Time!

and my sister comes home on Saturday!!! Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays!!! I love this time of year. Mommy spends a lot of time in the kitchen mixing and baking all sorts of fun treats for everyone. I sit by her feet and drool over the delicious smells that come out of that hot box thing, Mommy calls an oven. She gets nervous when it's on and I'm too close. She's been making a lot of human treats but tonight is my night! She promised we're going to make "Bellascotti" for Godiva & I along with all my other canine friends (Riley, Bruno, Lyric, Bailey, Cooper, Tucker, Marley, Tinsley, Hennah, Kir, Hounder, Roscoe and of course the Davikas gang!) They don't know what they're in for! Plus! You have got to see the presents under the tree. You would think Santa Paws came already. And the best part....most of the presents have Bella or Godiva written on them! It is official, Pink Girl will become Godiva on Saturday. Godiva had her temperament testing Monday morning. Ms. Kate called her a little spit fire. She's not quite show ring material (she has no interest of sitting or standing still). Gee, does that sound like someone I know. Ms. Kate has a feeling she be great for Dock Jumping. YES! I'm soooo excited. Now if only the water would warm up. Maybe Mommy & Daddy need to find an indoor pool. Here is Godiva at 7 weeks old. It's amazing how much she has changed in a week. Everyone is anxiously awaiting her arrival. I helped make her bed in Mommy & Daddy's room last night. Mommy has her bowls all cleaned. Her Christmas stocking should arrive any day so we can hang it right next to mine!

Pink Girl will be Godiva in less than 2 weeks!!!

My baby sister turned 6 weeks old on Saturday. Do you know what that means? She comes home pretty soon. Mommy has her crate all ready. Mommy also has some pretty boxes & packages under the Christmas Tree with our names on them.
Here's the picture of pink girl at 6 weeks. I can't wait till she comes home so we can play. What a difference a week makes.
